Generations ago in the graceful South Carolina Lowcountry, a simple yet elegant baby bonnet pattern was cut carefully from plain brown paper.
Though the pattern was plain, the baby bonnet was a show-stopper. And we became the fortunate beneficiaries many, many years later, when a fresh new pink and white gingham bonnet appeared, a baby gift from a close friend to our chief designer, then a young mother with her first baby. With it, the friend presented that unique handmade pattern, the only one of its kind, worn from much use but still clear. Back then, it was charmingly called a Buttercup Bonnet.
That simple pattern, copyright-protected to preserve its uniqueness, has become a roadmap for our mission of providing modern babies with the same shade, comfort and classic style as for the first baby who wore it. Heirloom quality yet machine washable, and also made in designer fabrics, our bonnet is still made to be worn... fashionably, just like always.
